The HAFA Program

The HAFA program for short sales is now in effect, and most of the largest lenders are participating courtesy of the Federal Government's kind persuasion:  that's a good sign.

Sellers and Buyers! Educate yourself on the new short sale process.  Watch this Realtor TV video:  it definitely is not as entertaining as NCIS, but it beats not knowing what is going on right now in the short sales department!

The changes are a refreshing turn of events.  Hopefully it will streamline the short sale process which was everything but "short" :  only the sellers' and buyers' tempers were on the short side.  And sellers and buyers can now get to the closing table ...more quickly and efficiently.  Also, lenders will realize the benefits and savings of approving short sales quickly as opposed to taking forever to sell bank-owned properties. After all, banks loan money for others to buy homes and they are not in the business of owning and selling real estate.
